| The FACT that most, if not all, STEM based industries hire based on non-academic certifications first, and degrees as optional is all the FACTS that need to be considered. The FACT that they have even had to set up these certification institutions speaks VOLUMES about the state of the university system, especially the public ones. Nowadays you are no less likely to get a far more useful "education" from some "accredited university" in a strip mall or former department store, than you do at 99% of so-called traditional universities.
